You Can Help Provide Even More Arts-based Resources for Families to use at Home

Many children throughout our neighborhoods are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Schools are closed. Visits with friends and family are limited. Extended family members are asked to step in to inspire our children to learn.

At a time when the future is unknown, one thing is clear – we need the arts to inspire us more than ever.

The Van Wezel Foundation, in partnership with the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, is pleased to share arts-based online lessons and daily activity calendars that families, teachers and caregivers can use to meet the growing needs and changing roles of families.

These free online resources have been carefully vetted by school districts and early learning centers and offer families new options to keep children learning and thriving during this time. And, they’re already a hit!

Beth loves to play dress-up with her granddaughter, Ella. Last week, they watched the Artworks Anywhere video about costume design and learned critical thinking, how to
work together, imagination and storytelling. Little Ella loved it, and together, they made a special crown and princess wings and learned to fight dragons. Through creative play, they are both teaching and learning together.

With our resources, you have the power to help children learn at home. Your gift today will bring the joys of visual art, dramatic play and story exploration directly to families at home while being free and accessible for everyone.

Help us reach $250 to create a new online lesson and provide even more indelible learning experiences for our children and grandchildren. Please donate today.
